Jeannette is a city in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1888. At one point, Jeannette was home to as many as 7 significant factories, some of the most well-known in the history of the glass industry. Companies such as Jeannette Glass, Fort Pitt Glass, the Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Company, American-Saint Gobain, and Westmoreland Glass supplied the country with plate glass windows, bottles, milk glass, and more for many decades. Estimates indicate that at one time, Jeannette produced between 70 and 85% of the world's glass. Unfortunately, due to cheap foreign competition, the city's glass industry declined and only two glass factories remain today.

Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
