CBS, or Columbia Broadcasting System, is a commercial television and radio network in the United States, owned by ViacomCBS through its CBS Entertainment Group division. The network's headquarters is located in the CBS Building in New York City, with significant production facilities and operations situated in both New York City, specifically at the CBS Broadcast Center, and Los Angeles, at CBS Television City and the CBS Studio Center.
The acronym "CBS" originates from its previous legal name, which was in use from 1928 until 1974. The network is occasionally referred to as the Eye Network, a nod to its trademark symbol that has been in use since 1951. Additionally, it has been dubbed the "Tiffany Network," a reference to the high quality of its programming during the leadership of William S. Paley. This term also recalls some of CBS's early demonstrations of color television, which took place in the former Tiffany and Company Building in New York City in 1950.
A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
