Small excerpt from magazine: 1789 George Washington Letter to Presbyterians on Freedom of religion; Benjamin Franklin speech as President of Pennsylvania Society for the Promotion of the Abolition of Slavery; Noah Webster on Political Advantages of U.S.; French Revolution, King & Queen seized at Versailles; Dr. Benjamin Rush on Dr. Morgan & Medical Education (issue has some text loss.) Also: George Washington writes, "all men within our territories are protected in worshipping the Deity according to the dictates of their consciences." Ben Franklin says, "Slavery is such an atrocious debasement of human nature, that its very extirpation, if not performed with solicitous care, may sometimes open a source of serious evils."
