Cap Bertrand Collins was the inventor of the Collins Rotary Safety Razor, a unique shaving device featuring a round razor blade that was slowly rotated by a spring-loaded mechanism housed in a relatively large handle. His first patent for the razor was granted on February 9, 1915, with subsequent patents issued for design improvements. The razors were initially manufactured at Collins' factories on West Lake Street in Chicago, Illinois. Some sources suggest that the company later operated under the name Collins Safety Razors in Franklin, Pennsylvania. In addition to the rotary version, Collins also produced a fixed-blade variant, essentially a round safety razor.
