Delta Air Lines, Inc., widely recognized as Delta, is a prominent U.S. airline and a legacy carrier based in Atlanta, Georgia. Alongside its subsidiaries and regional partners, including Delta Connection, the airline conducts over 5,400 flights each day to 325 destinations across 52 countries on six continents. Delta is a founding member of the SkyTeam airline alliance and operates nine hubs, with Atlanta being the largest in terms of passenger traffic and number of departures. Delta is ranked as the second-largest airline globally by scheduled passengers, revenue passenger-kilometers flown, and fleet size. It occupies the 69th spot on the Fortune 500 list, and its motto is "Keep Climbing."
The origins of Delta can be traced back to Huff Daland Dusters, Inc., the first aerial crop dusting operation in the world, established on March 2, 1925, in Macon, Georgia, and subsequently relocated to Monroe, Louisiana, in the summer of 1925. The company utilized the Huff-Daland Duster, the first genuine crop-dusting aircraft, to combat the boll weevil infestation that was damaging cotton crops. Under the guidance of C.E. Woolman, who later became Delta's inaugural CEO, a consortium of local investors acquired the company's assets, resulting in the establishment of Delta Air Service on December 3, 1928, named in honor of the Mississippi Delta region.

Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
