Floyd Gibbons (1887-1939) He Was born in Washington D.C., He was one of Radio's first news reporters. He was famous for talking fast and living a life of danger. During WWI he was the war correspondent for the Chicago Tribune. He lost an eye covering the Battle of Belleau Wood, France, and wore a white patch on his left eye.
