The company was incorporated in 1980, acquired Wometco in 1985, and purchased Sunbelt Coca-Cola in 1991. In 2018, Coca-Cola Consolidated announced a significant expansion into Kentucky.

Mayodan, North Carolina is a town located in Rockingham County, North Carolina, United States. The town is known for being a manufacturing hub, hosting facilities such as Sturm, Ruger & Co. and Bridgestone Aircraft Tire, and was formerly home to General Tobacco, which ceased operations in 2010. Washington Mills Company, which later became Tultex, operated a textile mill in Mayodan until 1999. The town’s name derives from the convergence of the Mayo and Dan rivers nearby and is recognized by Ripley's Believe It or Not! as the only town in the world with this name. Established as a mill town with the construction of a cotton mill in 1892, Mayodan began operations in April 1896. The Washington Mills-Mayodan Plant was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Rogers, Arkansas, was named in honor of Captain Charles W. Rogers, the vice-president and general manager of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway, commonly known as the Frisco. The town was established in 1881 to coincide with the arrival of the Frisco line. To recognize Captain Rogers' contributions, the area residents named the town after him. Rogers was officially incorporated on June 6, 1881. In 1883, it became the terminus of the Bentonville Railroad, which connected Rogers with Bentonville, approximately six miles away. This line, which later came under the ownership of the Arkansas and Oklahoma Railroad, was extended to Grove, Oklahoma. Today, only the segment between Rogers and Bentonville remains in operation.
