Genisco Technology Corporation, commonly referred to as Solaris Genisco, specializes in the production of military-grade computers and electronic filters, with a significant focus on military contracts. Established in 1983, the company is headquartered in Anaheim, California, having previously operated from La Mirada, California. Genisco's products primarily serve military applications and factory automation. The company's transducer division was responsible for manufacturing altimeters for the HARM missile, cabin pressure transducers for the Space Shuttle, liquid thruster fuel line pressure sensors, Mark 48 naval torpedoes, brake pad pressure sensors for civilian aircraft, and water valve switching sensors for the Idaho Nuclear Commission.

In November 1988, Genisco admitted to falsifying test data related to torpedo simulators, a mobile underwater target device, and HARM missile transducers, resulting in a $725,000 fine and prison sentences for three supervisors in the transducer division in January 1989. In February 1995, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Shortly thereafter, it announced the sale of its filter division, Genisco Electronics, along with its Eldema Indicator Lites product line and a factory located in Tijuana, Mexico, to Potter Production Corp. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. However, it retained its Solaris division, which developed "hardened" computer workstations for industrial environments, under a licensing agreement with Sun Microsystems.

Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
