The New Gold Dollar Mining Company was a reorganization of the Gold Dollar Consolidated Mining Co. that had 62 acres on the eastern slope of Beacon Hill, including part of the town of Arequa. Gold ore occurred in a 2 to 4 ft wide vein averaging $20 per ton and was developed by 1,050 ft Mabel and Union shafts with 10,000 ft of drifting and crosscutting. Idle in 1925 (Mines Handbook, 1925, p. 762).
