Probably was located in Summitville area. At the time of issuance, the largest operation was the Little Annie (Eberhart). There is a discrepancy of where this company was. The Little Amie was the biggest mine in the district. San Juan Consol. Was also located at Summitville. [Ref: Eberhart]. The Gold Placer Mining Company was in Pitkin County, Colorado in the Alma Mining District. Claims in this area included the Alma, Pease and Sidell Placers. (Ref: Fred Holabird)

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
