The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, established in 1898 by Frank Seiberling, is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Akron, Ohio, specializing in tire manufacturing. The company produces tires for a diverse range of vehicles, including automobiles, commercial trucks, light trucks, motorcycles, SUVs, race cars, airplanes, agricultural machinery, and heavy earth-moving equipment. Additionally, Goodyear manufactured bicycle tires from its inception until 1976. As of 2017, it ranks among the top four tire manufacturers globally, alongside Bridgestone (Japan), Michelin (France), and Continental (Germany). The company derives its name from Charles Goodyear, the American inventor known for developing vulcanized rubber. The initial Goodyear tires gained popularity due to their easy detachability and minimal maintenance requirements. Although Goodyear began producing airships and balloons in the early 1900s, its first advertising blimp took to the skies in 1925, becoming one of the most iconic advertising symbols in the United States.

Goodyear holds the record as the most successful tire supplier in Formula One history, boasting the highest number of starts, victories, and constructors' championships compared to any other tire supplier, although it withdrew from the sport after the 1998 season. Furthermore, it serves as the exclusive tire supplier for the NASCAR series. In 1994, Goodyear became the first global tire manufacturer to enter the Chinese market by investing in a tire production facility in Dalian. The company was also part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and inaugurated a new global headquarters in Akron in 2013.
