Narragansett Park was a Thoroughbred horse racing track in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. After Rhode Island voters legalized parimutuel betting on May 18, 1934, the Narragansett Racing Association quickly announced plans for a $1 million race track on the site of the former What Cheer Airport. The track was named after the original Narragansett Park, a trotting park in Cranston, Rhode Island. The Association was awarded the state's first horse racing permit on June 6, 1934. Construction of the track was completed in under two months at a cost of $1.2 million. The facility featured a one-mile racing oval, a 14,000-seat grandstand, 270 betting and paying booths, a clubhouse, and 22 barns accommodating over 1,000 horses. To improve access, the City of Pawtucket built a new four-lane highway leading to the track's entrance, and a double-track railway was installed near the grandstands.

Monmouth Park Racetrack, located in Oceanport, New Jersey, is a Thoroughbred horse racing track owned by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and operated through a partnership with Darby Development, LLC under a five-year lease. The track's highlight event is the Haskell Invitational, named after Amory L. Haskell. Originally run as a handicap in 1968, it became an Invitational Handicap in 1981 and is now a 1?-mile race for three-year-olds held in late July. Monmouth Park also hosts the Jersey Derby, which was previously held at Garden State Park until that track closed in 2001. Monmouth Park’s racing season runs from early May to Labor Day in early September.

Western Racing, originally established as Western Enterprises Inc. in September 1955, underwent a series of name changes, becoming Western Greyhound Racing, Inc. in November 1955 and finally Western Racing, Inc. in November 1957. The company primarily operated greyhound racing events in Arizona, including the Black Canyon Dog Track, which opened in 1967 by the Funk family. The construction of I-17 provided easy access for Phoenicians to the races in Black Canyon, about 40 miles north of Phoenix. Western Racing Inc., based in Delaware, collaborated with the Funk family to manage the track until its closure in 1982. In the years following, the track hosted Swap Meet events but was eventually abandoned in the late 1980s, leaving the once-popular venue to deteriorate.

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
