Currently headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, LP stands as the largest global producer of OSB and specializes in engineered wood building products. The company's offerings are distributed to builders and homeowners through various building materials distributors, dealers, and retail home centers. As of 2011, LP operates 24 mills, with 15 located in the United States, six in Canada, two in Chile, and one in Brazil. The company was incorporated on January 5, 1973, following a court-ordered breakup of a monopoly held by Georgia-Pacific. William H. Hunt, who served as vice-chairman at Georgia-Pacific, became the first chairman of Louisiana-Pacific. In 1974, Harry A. Merlo, who had been the CEO since the company's inception, took over as chairman while continuing in his role as CEO. For the first 33 years of its existence, Louisiana-Pacific was headquartered in Portland, Oregon, before relocating to Nashville in 2004.
Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
