Specimen Stock printed by American Bank Note Company United States Banknote Corporation. Polaris Inc., an American automotive manufacturer headquartered in Medina, Minnesota, was originally named Polaris Industries Inc. and was renamed Polaris Inc. in 2019. Founded in Roseau, Minnesota, where it still maintains engineering and manufacturing facilities, Polaris has a rich history in the industry. The company produced motorcycles through its Victory Motorcycles subsidiary until January 2017 and currently offers motorcycles via its Indian Motorcycle subsidiary, which it acquired in April 2011. While Polaris manufactured personal watercraft from 1994 to 2004, it has since focused on other products.
Previously, Robin, a subsidiary of Subaru Corporation, developed and supplied all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and snowmobile engines for Polaris. Since 1995, with the introduction of the Polaris Magnum 425 4-stroke ATV and the "twin 700" snowmobile engine in 1997, Polaris began developing its own "Liberty" line of engines. Today, Polaris designs and manufactures all its powertrains in-house while maintaining a partnership with Subaru. In 2010, Polaris moved part of its utility and sport vehicle assembly operations to Mexico, with components manufactured in Osceola, Wisconsin, and vehicle assembly conducted in Roseau, Minnesota. The company's off-road vehicles are largely produced in these facilities. Both Victory and Indian motorcycles are American-made, with powertrains assembled in Osceola, Wisconsin, and complete vehicles assembled in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
