The Rochester Red Wings are a Minor League Baseball team that competes in the International League and serves as the Triple-A affiliate for the Washington Nationals. Based in Rochester, New York, they host their home games at Innovative Field, situated in the heart of downtown Rochester. Established in 1899, the Red Wings hold the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating sports franchise in North America at the minor league level.
Since the implementation of the minor league farm system in the 1920s, the Red Wings have maintained affiliations with four Major League Baseball organizations, showcasing a remarkable consistency in these partnerships. They were the primary farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals for 32 years (1929–1960), the Baltimore Orioles for 42 years (1961–2002), and the Minnesota Twins for 18 years (2003–2020). In 2021, they transitioned to become the Triple-A affiliate of the Nationals.
