Samuel Lionel Rothafel (1881-1936) Better known as "Roxy": motion picture theatre operator and innovator in stage presentations. Responsible for the building of the famous "Roxy" theatre in in 1927 and later in 1931 having joined the Radio Keith-Orpeum organization developed Rockefeller Centers Radio City Music Hall. Theatre managers everywhere, in this country and even abroad, looked up to his theatres as the ideal. Roxy was also a pioneer in popular network radio.
