St. Regis, a leading manufacturer of industrial multi-wall paper bags, shut down its operations at the Franklin plant in 1983 when Champion Paper acquired the facility. Shortly thereafter, the plant was sold to Stone Container, which operated it until 1986. At that point, Nansemond Cold Storage of Suffolk purchased the property. Since then, the building has been repurposed for various uses, including as a storage facility and for producing plastic trash containers by American Plastics Inc.

Stock and Bond Specimens are made and usually retained by a printer as a record of the contract with a client, generally with manuscript contract notes such as the quantity printed. Specimens are sometimes produced for use by the printing company's sales team as examples of the firm’s products. These are usually marked "Specimen" and have no serial numbers.
