Taylor, known for his Spoonerisms, adopted the full name Colonel Lemuel Q. Stoopnagle as he and his partner showcased their talents in various formats on CBS, including some of the network's initial experimental television broadcasts. They created a range of distinctive voices for their eccentric characters, engaging in absurd antics and humorous interviews. Among the Colonel's playful quips were: "If it weren't for half the people in the United States, the other half would be all of them," "Stoopnocracy is peachy," and "People have more fun than anybody." The announcer for their early 1930s programs was Louis Dean (1874–1933).

A stock certificate is issued by businesses, usually companies. A stock is part of the permanent finance of a business. Normally, they are never repaid, and the investor can recover his/her money only by selling to another investor. Most stocks, or also called shares, earn dividends, at the business's discretion, depending on how well it has traded. A stockholder or shareholder is a part-owner of the business that issued the stock certificates.
